Meet Karen, a Beddown Breakfast Club Volunteer.
Seeking to contribute to her beloved home and city of Ipswich, Karen was delighted to learn of the chance to volunteer during our Change 47 Fundraising Campaign last year. Having volunteered at our Breakfast Club for over a year, Karen says she now has a much better understanding that the experience of homelessness doesn’t discriminate.
“It can be a fine line between living under a roof and sleeping rough.”
Of volunteering here? “It’s great! The conversations with clients, the camaraderie between the volunteers and the Beddown team … it can be really fun. And when I think more deeply about it, volunteering has developed a better sense of grace in me.”
