When the opportunity to volunteer at Beddown’s Breakfast Club, a safe place for people sleeping rough to drop in for a bite to eat, cup of coffee and conversation in Ipswich, Andrew immediately responded to the call out.
“The experience for people sleeping rough was quite a visible issue to me and I thought this is a way I could give back and better understand.”
Volunteering since the doors opened to our Breakfast Club, Andrew says, “it has taught me patience and an understanding that things are always more complex than what we first think. Connecting with Beddown guests is about building community. The power of Breakfast Club is that it creates a sense of community for people who may not otherwise feel this.”
And it’s also a chance for Beddown guests to experience Andrew’s specialty ham and cheese toasties, and sometimes his Dad’s pancakes. Either menu option is not to be missed!
Please join us in thanking Andrew, Breakfast Club’s treasured “Toast Master”, for his ongoing volunteering.
