The homeless have many dangers, not only health related, but also fear of being attacked while they sleep on the street.
According to the Excélsior news portal, knowing this and wanting to help, the Australian organization Beddown had an excellent idea: to transform a parking lot into a safe place at night for those who need it.
Of course, it must take place at night so that no cars are around.
That’s how they got in touch with the ‘Safe Parking’ operator. They started a test in Brisbane after they reached an agreement.
They placed beds with towels, pillows, and duvets in a parking lot that isn’t used at night. Not only that, but the organization also provides them with new clothing and medical care.
In addition, they are allowed to use the bathrooms and showers that the public parking lot has.
“We seek to give them a comfortable space so that they can have a good night. It is our aim. We hope to have a great impact,” said the creators of Bedddown.
