Mavis and her children*

Fleeing domestic violence perpetrated by her ex-partner and father to her children, meant that Mavis* drove to Far North Queensland with just a few belongings that could fit in their car.

When our Community Partner Womens Centre FNQ first met Mavis and her family, all funds available to them had been depleted, and they were living in their car with her ex-partner actively seeking to locate them.

Our Community Partner, Womens Centre FNQ, accessed The Good Night Initiative to provide them with immediate safe and secure accommodation. In the first instance to decompress, and then to commence engagement and advocacy to support them on their pathway to a new, safe and long-term home.

Funded by Beddown’s The Good Night Initiative – a huge thank you to the amazing kindness of Beddown supporters for making this happen!

Let’s help everyone get a good night’s sleep.
